For over 30 years, Ice Systems Australasia has been designing and manufacturing the machinery that keeps Australia's packaged ice industry running — from individual baggers and rakebins to complete turn-key plants.
What we do
We design, manufacture, install and service industrial ice handling, storage and packaging equipment. Our work spans single-machine replacements through to complete turn-key plants — with mechanical, electrical, refrigeration and controls coordinated under one supplier.

Our customers are commercial ice producers and the food, fishing, beverage and horticulture operators who rely on ice in their cool chain. Many relationships go back decades — built on equipment that keeps running and the support to keep it that way.

Des Doolan — Founder
The business was founded as Ice Systems Australia by Des Doolan — an engineer, builder and businessman whose vision shaped what the company is today. When Ashley McLean took the reins in 2019, the business was renamed Ice Systems Australasia to reflect a wider regional footprint, but the engineering DNA Des laid down hasn't changed.
Des spent his working life solving real problems for Australian ice producers. The machinery, the customer relationships, and the no-nonsense approach to getting plants running and keeping them running — all of it traces back to him.
Today the company carries on the work he started, with the same commitment to Australian engineering, honest dealing and standing behind what we build. Every plant we deliver is part of his legacy.
